You will experience almost the feeling of being in a place that seems to be made just for you. It is actually one of the less frequented and popular places in Giglio Island but for this even more special. The place we are talking about is punta di Capel Rosso.
The headland – It is one of the best excursions in Giglio Island departing from Giglio Castello. Punta Capel Rosso is located at the southern end of the island. About forty minutes walk it will be enough to get to the top of the promontory that juts into the sea. The greater sense are the scents of the sea that are mixed with those of the Mediterranean scrub and low vegetation, made of rock rose and myrtle.
The lighthouse – It will not be as famous as lovers’ lighthouse, but the lighthouse of Capel Rosso is one of the points to see in Giglio Island. The lighthouse has a tower like structure and overlooks the sea. As you can imagine, the view you can admire from the lighthouse is simply breathtaking.
The sea – The sea of punta di Capel Rosso is not only to admire but you can come down and bathe. Near Capel Rosso you can find a stone staircase leading down to the base of the cliff. Using the necessary prudence, you can dive in a place little known of Giglio Island.
