The last week of September, on Island of Giglio take place a feast that has become an authentic, small tradition: we are talking about the Grape Festival and the Open wine cellars. Official dates have not yet been communicated but the event should be held on 28, 29 and 30 September. A wonderful opportunity to organize a small holiday or spend a weekend on the island of Giglio.
In the three days of the event, the wineries of Giglio Castello will become the meeting points where all visitors can:
- Taste the typical dishes of Giglio island, such as fish in Scaveccio, Caciucco and Panficato;
- Taste, of course, the best wines of the island of Giglio, of which the king is without doubt the ansonal, a white and dry wine, with a decisive taste and almost amber colour.
Typical products and not only: the evenings will also be animated by lots of live music in the square and on the street.
The heart of Giglio Island
Giglio Castello is an ancient medieval village that has preserved intact all its evocative atmosphere, which will make the festival of grapes and wine cellars open even more special. This village rises exactly to the center of the island, at the top of a hill.
How to get there
