Giglio Island what to do: the fourth stage is Punta di Capel Rosso

You are in Giglio Campese. And your vacation to Giglio Island continues. To continue, you need good hiking boots because you will walk. You may also choose to get there by car or motorbike. But, in this case, you will lose the best part of Punta di Capel Rosso.

This is the southernmost cape of Giglio. From Giglio Campese, a paved road winds towards south and, passing near Finocchio village, leads to Punta di Capel Rosso. It takes, on average, a couple of hours to get there.

During the walk, you will have two inseparable companions at your side:

• the first is the sea
• the second is the Mediterranean scrub, that will give you its scents

Once on the promontory, you will see one of the most beautiful views that Giglio Island can offer: to understand what place you are discovering, you can view the picture above. There is also a staircase, carved into the rock of the cliff, which reaches the sea. The Capel Rosso lighthouse overlooks the promontory and the sea.

At this point, you just have to go back to Giglio Campese: this excursion takes about 6-8 hours. Precisely for this reason, keep in mind that prudence is always the first thing.
