Cannelle beach: relax and snorkeling in a small paradise

On the east coast of the Giglio Island, is a paradise for those who dream of pristine sea and white sand. All this is Cannelle beach.

The beach – is the second largest beach on the Giglio Island following Campese beach. Cannelle is a beach of fine white sand, protected by granite hills covered with evergreens, bordered by boulder and rocks rising from the water.

The sea – As in other island’s beaches, the color of the sea in Cannelle beach varies from turquoise to emerald. The seabed slopes gradually and is rich in sea grass and small fishes: suitable for swimming and snorkeling.

Services – Cannelle beach, especially during the summer, it is always very crowded. And this not only because it is one of the most beautiful beaches on Giglio Island, but also for the numerous services it offers: umbrellas, canoes and pedal boats rental, sea-view restaurant, bar.

Other bays – Near Cannelle beach there is Cala dello Smeraldo: very small and sheltered, owes its name to the color of the water by the unique transparency. It is a very quiet cove.

How to reach – Cannelle beach is located near the village of Giglio Porto. It can be reached by boat (by renting one in Giglio Porto), using the public transport service, or dealing with a challenging but pleasant walk of about twenty minutes on dirt paths departing from Giglio Porto.
