The hiking path towards Punta di Capel Rosso was challenging but fascinating. Back in Giglio Campese, you need to rest. The next day, from the port of Giglio Campese several boat tours depart. And a boat tour will take you to Giannutri Island.
- The coast of Giannutri is rocky. Cala Spalmatoio and Cala Maestra are the only two sandy beaches of this small island. They are small but beautiful: probably, you will bathe here.
- If you are in Cala Spalmatoio, you should know that this is the place of the island with the highest concentration of houses: a walk along its streets and its small square is a real gift if you want only relaxation and the scents of the sea.
- Instead, near Cala Maestra there are the ruins of an ancient Roman villa dating back to the second century A.D. It belonged to Domizi Enobarbi, a wealthy merchant family. The Roman villa was very large and very luxurious.
- At the southern end of the island there is a place that you really have to see: the lighthouse of Giannutri rises near Punta Rossa, on a cliff overlooking the sea.
