Giglio Island: the wonderful beach of Arenella

It is located along the northeastern coast of Giglio Island, not far from Giglio Porto. From here, you can enjoy a splendid view of the Argentario. Why do we recommend you to visit Arenella beach? It is easy to say: it is one of the most beautiful beaches on Giglio Island.

The beach

Arenella is a soft sand beach, an authentic and almost completely intact natural jewel. The beach is protected by granite boulders. Arenella is immediately recognizable by the presence of a large palm tree.

The sea

The colour of the sea changes from turquoise to emerald, and the water is so transparent that you can see the bottom. The seabed of Arenella beach is rich in posidonia, ideal for pleasant swims and snorkeling enthusiasts.

Arenella beach is equipped with several services/facilities: umbrella and sunbed rental, bar, a characteristic restaurant overlooking the beach.

How to get

The Arenella beach can be easily reached starting from the town of Giglio Porto, where ferries to Giglio Island dock.

You can get to the beach by car (following the road signs to Arenella) and by bus (the stop is Monticello). If you want to get there on foot from Giglio Porto, it’s a one-hour walk along the 1a trail.

From Arenella beach, you can reach other wonderful small rocky coves, such as cala del Lazzaretto, Cala di mezzo and Cala cupa.
